McKinney Green

Throughout its history, McKinney has been both proud of its beautiful natural setting and concerned with preserving it. McKinney Green is a city-wide undertaking to research Green practices in McKinney, surrounding cities and across the country. Together with the Chamber of Commerce, the city selected HDR Engineering, Inc. to help kick-start the program, which has a goal to determine the best environmentally friendly atmosphere for our city.

McKinney Green Framework for Sustainable Future

Many private businesses were already leading the Green movement in the city. McKinney Green selected both business and community leaders to form an advisory committee to look at the research, gather opinions and ultimately educate city leaders and what ‘Green’ means for McKinney.

The first meeting of the advisory committee resulted in idea sharing about how Green McKinney is, and how Green we want to be.
